  2. Great idea!

My current circumstances don't permit the luxury of owning a professional team but if I did, the first thing I'd do would be to sell it so that I could afford to attend the games!

With baseball's winter meetings less than a week away, what moves would you make ... or attempt to make to improve your team?

    Or would you sit tight?

For the Braves, were I Frank Wren, other than looking for a job, I'd be trying to move Mr. Lowe ... an obvious choice perhaps ... Kelly Johnson and prospect Jordan Schafer too!

I'd offer big bucks ... at least $100 each, for the two "A" minor league pitchers with the best stuff, and the best defensive catcher at that same level.

With Hudson, Jurjens, Hanson, Kawakami and Vazquez, assuming he stays, ... that rotation will git 'er did ... another assumption ... it stays healthy.

A starting infield of Prado, Escobar, Infante and Laroche works too ... though, Adam may not agree ... and should that prove to be the case, forget the contrariwise protestations, Chipper or Prado could play first.

Relatively speaking, Laroche represents good value, methinks ... conventional wisdom seems to be to pass on him and look for someone else ... not sure why.

I'd forget platooning and start Haywood in the outfield to go with Diaz and McLouth ... perhaps Schafer as the fourth man, if not traded.

The Braves' biggest problem team wise is that they haven't been together long enough ... keep them together and let's see what they can do!

  3. I'm not sure that even selling a team would give you enough money to go to a game, if you were going to the new Yankee stadium - the house that Ruth did not build.

  4. I'll admit that BARB has me confused ... not that that's a feat, but Larry with a fish is some kind of logo ... go Crackers!

Oops, the hotwater cornbread is burning!

  7. NOW ABOUT CHIPPER JONES...I WERE WERE THE OWNER OF THE BRAVES. I THINK I WOULD HAVE CHIPPER JONES,BRIAN MCCANN, AND BOBBY COX CLONED AND FIRE THE OTHER NIT WITS. CHIPPER,ON HIS OWN, HAS HAD MANY ACCOMPLISHMENTS. ONE IN PARTICULAR: 29 GAME HITTING STREAK AGAINST THE PHILLIES. IN MY, NOT TOO OFTEN SHARED OPINION, CHIPPER RANKS HIGH AMONGST ALL OF THE MVPS. COME ON NOW SJA
NOW LETS HEAR WHAT YOU'VE GOT TO SAY ABOUT THAT.
